"The right words have still not found me. Nobody helped for attention. Nobody thought much about it. Everyone jumped in and took action... to help where help was needed.
I am very proud to be part of this strong and caring community called Reporyje. Thanks to our open-minded Mayor, Pavel Novotný and the dedication of our community, the railway station is now finished and Ukrainian families now live there. Since over a week ago, my community has been working on housing dozens of Ukrainian refugees - completely renovating our railway station into an apartment for our incoming refugee neighbors. Everyone brought their talents to the table-- donating time, energy and necessities such as furniture, appliances, clothing, bedding, and so on. Those who are skilled built the kitchens, wiring, plumbing, furniture--everything! Those who could organize, did the logistics. Those who could do anything at all--they all helped! The firemen and their families deserve an extra big applause. So many details went into this project and so many ideas were realized because of every single person who volunteered to involve themselves." --April Popko
