Title: KELP
20cm x 50cm
Acrylic on canvas
Prague, 2019
Artist, APRIL POPKO, paints from her art studio in Prague, CZ when she is not in Cape Cod.  Here, she presents the unique painting, KELP, in honor of her late father, JULIAN POPKO, who was a very active member and artist in Provincetown.  Julian loved being involved with many town activities, donating his resources to help others, most notably through the arts.  His work can be seen around town as sculptures on the pier, handmade benches, flags, artistic fences in the dog park and most notably, with his winter-long, annual project, the Provincetown Lobster Pot.   In his honor, daughter April continues the tradition of contributing to the community through the arts.

You can purchase KELP, in his honor, by directly contacting April Popko at 1.508.487.3803/6789 or by email april@popko.com.   The painting will be exhibited at the Provincetown Commons on 46 Bradford Street, Provincetown, MA from July 1-August 20, 2019.  All funds will go directly to the Provincetown Center for Coastal Studies.
