April Popko & UNYP (University of New York in Prague) Gala Evening May 24th, 2023 at Zizkov Tower! Tower Park Praha - Žižkov Tower Mahlerovy sady 1, Praha 3, 13000 The event will feature the unveiling and dedication of a new, custom made painting created specially for UNYP for their 25th Anniversary, from April Popko. Other paintings from her collection inspired by New York City will be on display from May 17th-June 19th, 2023. The NYC Collection, which a combination of pieces from Between Two Worlds, Fleet and Abstractions. These pieces show a more playful side to her artwork, including some of New York's iconic images such as a Coney Island Gumball machine, a hailed Taxi, Lanterns criss-crossing Chinatown, Park Avenue, The Chrysler Building, an American fire hydrant, Popko's spin on the Big Apple, the Hudson River, of course, the American Flag and more... "Inspired by the electric energy of New York, the city that never sleeps, I created this dramatic painting to represent the connection between our two worlds across the Atlantic.
