Everyone knows how much inspiration I get from nature--especially the ocean!
I’ve just learned about some outstanding guys (named Mr. Beast and Mark Rober) who have created quite a buzz online. These guys are known for doing CRAZY tricks and games to create awareness around their mission to help our planet earth. THANK GOD! First, they made Team Trees and now they’re doing Team Seas! YES!!!!! Their goal is to collect 30 million pounds (30,000,000,000 lbs) of trash OUT from the ocean with $30,000,000,000 USD. They’re almost half way to their goal... and so I want to help by bringing awareness to their mission!
I’ve created 12 original paintings that represent our Five Oceans and Seven Seas— especially for the Team Seas project! You can help too--by buying one or more of these paintings (details below). For each dollar donated, Team Seas will extract one pound of plastic and trash from the ocean! I am so excited that these guys have all the equipment to remove the trash and create awareness—and to continue making new goals! This is just my small way of helping.
Our waters cover over 71 percent of the earth's surface and make up over 97 percent of the earth's water. Believe it or not, 50-80% of our oxygen comes from our oceans too—mostly from plankton (drifting plants, algae, and bacteria that can photosynthesize) so let’s take care of it! Can you imagine if there would be too much trash in the water that it would interfere with the production of our most necessary oxygen!? We love being able to enjoy the clear blue-green waters, but there are many parts of the world where it is filled with TRASH and birds and sea-life cannot live freely. Micro-plastics are harming what looks like clear water and because there are no borders in the ocean, the trash could actually float into those beautiful waters where WE love to swim! I want my children and future grandchildren to enjoy the gorgeous clean oceans too! What about you?
