Mayor, Pavel Novotny, awarded Medals of Honor to a select group of people from the community for their unique contributions. It is the highest award a Mayor can give after Honorary Citizenship (which was awarded to our former Mayor who had served for 16 years!). As the 1st American to ever receive this award, April Popko, is recognized among this Czech community for particularly contributing to spreading the good name of the district.
