POPKO - TREASURE
The Provincetown Commons
Provincetown, Massachusetts, USA
Great Provincetown Schooner Regatta

Title: TREASURE
50cm x 60cm
Acrylic on canvas
Prague, 2017
From her FLEET series, artist APRIL POPKO, paints from her art studio in Prague, CZ when she is not in Cape Cod.  Here, she presents the unique sailboat painting, TREASURE, in honor of her late father, JULIAN POPKO, who was a member, photographer and supporter of the Regatta.  Julian loved being on the open water with boaters of all kinds-- fishermen, lobstermen, and sailors alike.  He loved being involved with many town activities, donating his resources to help others, most notably through the arts.  His work can be seen around town as sculptures on the pier, handmade benches, flags, artistic fences in the dog park and most notably, with his winter-long, annual project, the Provincetown Lobster Pot.  In his honor, daughter April continues the tradition of contributing to the community through the arts.

You can purchase TREASURE, in his honor, by directly contacting April Popko at 1.508.487.3803/6789 or by email [email protected].   The painting will be exhibited at the Provincetown Commons on 46 Bradford Street, Provincetown, MA from July 1--August 20, 2019.   All funds will go directly to the Great Provincetown Schooner Regatta.
