featured in Hrot24 Magazine A Unique Cultural Evening Illuminated the Náprstek Museum: The Book Through Obstacles to the Stars Officially Launched |
Prague, July 28, 2025 (PROTEXT) – On Wednesday, July 23, a festive launch of the book Through Obstacles to the Stars: Inspiring Stories of Women Who Answered Their Inner Calling took place at the Náprstek Museum in Prague. The event gathered 436 guests from 10 countries around the world. The book presents powerful stories of women from various corners of the globe – from South America and Africa to Europe. This exceptional evening combined literature, music, art, and values of female courage, cultural diversity, and social change.
“We wanted to create something more than just a book launch. We wanted to create a space where people connect through humanity, inspiration, and hope – values that can be found within the book itself,” said Kamila Paličková, the project's author and the book’s publisher, who this year won the Global Coach of the Year category at the international competition The Women Changing the World. MSN magazine also ranked her among the Top 10 Women Disruptors to Watch in 2025.
In the presence of dozens of guests including readers, journalists, members of the diplomatic corps, and academics, the book’s authors were introduced and a unique evening unfolded celebrating cultural richness as well as values such as cooperation and respect. The evening was hosted by Magdalena Joy, a presenter at Relax Radio, with musical accompaniment from NOZIZWE with African music and the UBUNTU choir, as well as Rita, Yaka, Shane, and Bixku from the Brazilian indigenous tribe Huni Kuin. The audience was captivated by Ivana Kolcunová, a two-time British champion in aerial acrobatics. Artworks were presented by April POPKO, an American painter whose work adorns the office of President Petr Pavel, along with Tereza Janíková Gondková, and Rita and Yaka Huni Kuin.
The book Through Obstacles to the Stars is published in two versions – a standard edition and a limited exclusive edition of 300 copies with a certificate of authenticity.
