Step into the world of "Beyond the Frame: Exploring the Social Impact of Social Media Content Creation on Gender and Race," an immersive exhibition that delves deep into the intersection of visual art, representation, and inclusion. Our team has carefully curated a collection of visual art from a diverse group of artists, including contemporary pieces, and social media content creation that boldly tackles social and political issues surrounding gender and race, providing a powerful commentary on how these mediums have shaped our understanding of identity and culture. This exhibition is not just about celebrating the past and present but also about looking to the future, offering a glimpse into how visual art can continue to drive the conversation forward and inspire positive change.
"Between Two Worlds, was created because I felt that in living abroad for so long, I needed to communicate in a complex, foreign world, and yet, in this diverse, “global community” I was searching—between language barriers, cultural differences and questions around what I could contribute to society by being here.
Through art, I reinvented myself to express what I needed the outside world to understand. In this transformative process, I discovered fearlessness and, unexpectedly, a massive sense of connection. My art became the medium in which I could communicate my energy and build bridges between the gaps which I thought had existed—(linking countries, communities, genders, lifestyles, cultures, languages, and even the space between heaven and earth). I aim to bring viewers together through my art so that they too find their purpose, their connection, and their understanding of themselves as an essential part of the universe.
MOUNTAIN AIR was created with the intention to allow for breathing space. So much dialogue online and in the media, (political, gender, race and other issues) seems to fog our connection with reality and the present moment. Beyond what we can explore socially, there is great power from exploring within. When we can escape to the mountains (even if only within our imaginations), inhaling the crisp, fresh air, it is as if the rest of the world melts away. What if we took a trip to the mountains with no social media and no news outlets? There is no wi-fi in the mountains but I promise, there is a better connection.”—April Popko
