Donation of Astronomical Clock
Installed Autumn, 2018 "I am inspired by my father's love for family, friends, art and community everyday and today I am very happy to share this gift from him-- a new astronomical clock, now permanently located at the Provincetown Library on Commercial Street, Cape Cod, MA." |
"Take your time..." - - Julian Popko (1938--2017). This is a phrase I so often heard my father say, as he filled his life up to the brim with projects, people and purpose. He knew life and time were precious and he made all of us feel it too. In such a fast-paced world, Dad reminded us to take our time and live intentionally. As you see, I am inspired by his love for family, friends, art and community everyday and today I am very happy to share this gift from him-- a new astronomical clock, now permanently located at the Provincetown Library on Commercial Street, Cape Cod, MA. There is a very unique and magical story behind how it came to be here...which I will add to my book one day. Donated by Julian Popko & Family. Dad would be happy, knowing it overlooks the children's reading/play area, right next to the historical sailboat, Rose Dorothea. Whomever visits the library will be reminded of him as well as how precious it is to "take your time".
